An eye on Emaar Elite Hotel, Makkah
8 things to know about Emaar Elite Hotel,
Makkah
Hi everyone.. Its been a long
time since I came back from our umrah in February 2024. Alhamdulillah, this is my 3rd umrah in 10 years. Yesterday I was asked
about this hotel, so I will share some information for those who are searching
online about this hotel. Hope this post will help in some ways.
In Makkah we stayed at 2 different
hotels, Aldana M Millenium Hotel and
Emaar Elite Hotel ( Not in Madinah but Makkah). Aldana hotel I will share in
another post, InsyaaAllah.
1. BOOKING
I booked this hotel using Agoda.
Booked 2 rooms for 6 nights. A quadraple room for rm1254 and a double room for
my parents for rm886. Quite cheap. I discovered that booking through google
search to the Agoda app offered more discounted price. Make sure you book a
free cancelation hotel, so if you get a better offer, you can rebook again. I
was opening the App nearly everyday to get this cheapest price and rebooked a few
times.
2. TRAVEL
We travelled to the hotel by
uber. The 3 star hotel is situated on a steep hill around Ajyad street and not
that hard to find. The entrance is just beside the main road. For a cheap
hotel, this place is a bargain.
3. ROOM
Check-in check-out was a breeze at the hotel counter, there were sofa’s to rest after a tiring journey. 24 m2/258 ft2 room, spacious and modern decore. All you needed in a hotel, a TV, fridge and kettle. We were happy with our choice. The staff didn’t understand english much. There is also some refreshments sold at the lobby, infront of the hotel lift. Free Wifi is available
4. TRANSPORTATION
There is just one bus and I don’t
think you can rely on the driver. Saw that he skipped a few rounds and didn’t stop
at dedicated stops which is the hotel and the bus station. you can ask
permission from the bus driver from the hotel beside, Castle ajyad hotel, since they have a lot of
frequent buses . I personally think that we should ask permission, since we are
using a bus for their hotel guest. The driver was nice and let us in after he
made sure his hotel guest were all in first.
There is also a public bus stop Kudai 19 near the hotel.
You can also grab a taxi around 10sar.

| There are a few green buses, just check the name of the hotel infront of the bus or on the body of the bus. |

5. LAUNDRY
No place to do our laundry, so I
just hand-washed our clothes and hung them at the window. Laundry service is expensive
here. Rm15-30 for just 1kg of clothes. 1 jubah is already near 1kg. adviced to
bring your own hanger.
6. LOCATION
It is situated 1.5km to the
al-haram mosque around 25 minutes walk on Ajyad street. You can walk down but
be careful because certain areas are very steep. Concrete road. Nice walk and
you can take nice pictures. We also took the time to go into alleys and window
shop at the small street shops. There were a lot of pilgrims, looks like they came
from Turkiye. The walk up might be hard for the elderly or disabled.
7. RESTAURANTS
AND GROCERIES
There is a few kebab shops and
groceries near the hotel. Closed for a few hours on a Friday for Friday prayer.
8. PERSONAL
OPINION : LIKES DISLIKES
Likes- the modern decore, good
setting, new hotel. We liked almost everything about this hotel. Thank you
Emmar Elite for letting us stay there at an affordable price.
Acceptable – You get what you pay
for. It would be nice if the hotel had a laundry service for long stays like some hotels, and on-time buses. Waiting so long at the bus station for the bus
is tiring. So it this happens, opt for grabbing a taxi instead.
Dislikes - We encountered some selfish
illegal taxi’s who would park infront of the hotel entrance without any consideration
for guests. My booked ride driver seemed like he didn’t want any confrontation
with those taxi drivers to ask if they could park elsewhere and told me to ask
them to move their car myself. Arabs can be bad tempered and inconsiderate sometimes
(sorry if i offended anyone, not all arabs are like this, but I faced a few). I brought a wheelchair and had
a lot of luggage, we had to drag them far across the street to our booked ride.
